Problem of the Week

Sept. 17 – 20

Store 88 is on 8th Street.  Inside this store, they sell exactly 10 items.  Some items may have the same price as other items.  The catch is that the only digit on the price tag of each item is “8” (for example, $8.88 and 8 cents are possible prices but $8.08 is not).  If you buy one of each item, it will cost exactly $1,000.  What are the prices of each of the ten items?

Please write your name and your answers on the index card provided by the box located in Duke 209.  Fold the card in half and place in the box.

All answers must be submitted by 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.  The drawing will be at 4:15.
